Scan the Left QR Code you are NOT OK
Scan the Right QR Code if you are ok YES OK
A QR or Quick Response / Reference Code is a 2-dimensional barcode that contains information. Your EM Center has a growing number custom codes that contain preformatted emergency information for sending an SOS Text or SOS Email to CMC EM Center personnel.
These QR Codes are another way you can send CMC Emergency Managers an SOS, alerting them of your situation. QR Codes can be printed on menus, posted on bulletin boards, placed in classrooms, printed and kept in your wallet, put on placards, etc. Using your smart phone and a QR code reader app (i-nigma is free from 3G Vision at i-nigma.com) you simply scan the code using you smartphones QR code application and a preformatted SOS Text or SOS Email is entered into your phone and ready for you to send to EM Center. Depending where you are, the QR code you scan may contain location information so you do not have to type this in.
Above are two active QR Codes to report your Personal Safety Status - one that formats a message that you are NOT OK (left) and the other if you are ok YES OK (right). You can scan them from this page into your phone but do not send them unless you are reporting your safety status (YES OK) or need Emergency Personnel to respond immediately (NOT OK). Look for these codes around campus and in your classrooms.
Remember, you must have a smartphone with a QR Code Reader application installed. Click on the i-nigma link below to see which smartphones the i-nigma app from 3GVision supports. There are other QRC readers but we not have listed other them because we have found i-nigma (currently) to be the App of choice and EM Center has been tested with i-nigma due to its ease-of-use and performance.
Click on the link below to get the free application for either the iPad/iPhone or Android-based mobile devices. Again we recommend i-nigma for its performance and usability.
